Theory and Methodology of Teaching
Students learn 2 European languages, one of them being their major. They can take a third language as an additional course - Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Korean.
Language studies involve Speech Practice, Phonetics, Grammar in Use, Academic Writing, Business Writing, etc. Translation Practice includes Technical and Business Written Translation, Synchronous Translation, etc. The LaICC has up-to-date facilities for synchronous translation which are used in both in-class and lab work.
The core curriculum also includes theoretical courses in Modern Linguistics, Pragmatics and Text Analysis, Translation Theory, Intercultural Communication, etc.
Along with them our students take 1 or 2-term compulsory courses in humanities and natural science: political science, pedagogics, psychology, cultural studies, aerial studies, history, etc.
Along with English, German and French the newly introduced courses of Italian, Spanish, Korean and Chinese now form an optional part of the curriculum.
Upon admission students form "groups" of 10 to 15 persons that take the same courses; the membership in those groups generally remains the same for the whole course of study.
The full course of Higher Education takes 4-6 years. Each term students get through about 3-5 exams and 5-7 credits.
