THE HOUSE OF MY DREAM.

Big, light, cosy, warm, bright and modern; would you like to live in such a house? You are sure to! And as for me, I have a house of my dream and here is its description.
Well, should I have a chance of choosing the house it would be a detached one and, of course, I would pay attention to the 'traditional' building materials of brick (the walls) and slate (the roof); to the irregular, 'non-classical' shape, with all those little corners, making the house feel 'cosy'; of course, a large front garden with trees and bushes, evoking not only the countryside but also giving greater privacy would be great. What else… mmm… I would like the garage to be hidden discretely away, so that it wouldn't be too obvious and wouldn't spoil the rural feeling. And now let me invite you in.
Entering the house you find yourself in the large hall. The floor is covered with wonderful carpet. You can see the great number of photos on the walls. And some pictures will impress you greatly. But for my friends who travel a lot I have got plenty of different souvenirs and I consider the hall to be the very place to keep them. This is where I meet my guests.
One of the doors to the right of the hall leads into the living room. This room faces south, so it is very sunny, and it has a lovely view. Nowadays fireplaces are very modern, but you will be surprised not having found any in my living room. I have always been dreaming about aquarium. That's why in one of the walls there is a built-in aquarium. The bright curtains cover the window and the whole wall. And when they are drawn back you have good view of the front garden. On the low windowsill some flowerpots stand. You can hardly see any wallpaper on the walls because they are painted with tender blue colour. So it will not do to have pink furniture but tender green will suit perfectly. A wall unit with built-in TV-set is in this room. In the middle of the room you can find magazine-glass table, with "Cosmo", a vase of roses and a bowl of fruits. The table is surrounded by big soft green pillows.
Also on the ground floor there is a study. It is a must for me to have a comfortable and convenient study. There definitely are book-shelves with a great number of different books (for reading not for boasting), a table, a computer, leather furniture. The floor is covered with a cream carpet.
In the utility room, which is also on the ground floor, I would keep bicycles, suit cases, a vacuum cleaner and some other old things.
The other door in the hall leads into the kitchen. And what is kitchen for you? Well I consider the kitchen to be the most important room in my house. Because it's not only where we cook and eat but it also the main meeting place for family and friends. And as for the kitchen of the house of my dream I would like it to be a romantic one.
So what does this special room look like? It would be great to have kitchen of two rooms, between which there will be no doors but a false arch. It is acknowledged light is important in any room of the house, especially in the kitchen. And one room would definitely have big French windows leading onto a small patio. This will let me and my guests enjoy views of the outside world. I might as well add that I do like just to seat at the kitchen with a cup of tea and think what I had done, what I am going to do, and put the world to rights. And if there are any radiators under my windows I would certain to make the attractive window seats. Mmm… There is one more thing to be noted. I would fresco my walls with romantic images.
In the other room the various items of kitchen furniture are conveniently arranged in a line around three walls. The new electric cooker and the sink unit with its stainless steel sink and draining-board and gleaming taps are at one end. Above it is a wooden pulley, which is old-fashioned but very useful for drying clothes in wet weather. On the left-hand side there is a long cupboard, which stretches the whole length of the wall. Fixed to the wall above one of the cupboard there is a large notice-board, which tells the story of our lives, past, present, and future, in words and pictures. At the opposite wall there is a washing mashing, a refrigerator and a small chest of drawers in which cutlery, table-cloths, serviettes are kept. The focal point of the room is a good-sized rectangular table. And from my description you have probably guessed that kitchen is my favorite room in the house.

The house has some acres of land, and there is a green house, a shed, a swimming pool and a tennis court. It is a beautiful place to be at any time of year. In winter the house is warm and cosy and in summer there is so much to do outside.
This is the house of my dream! And I'll try to do my best to make this dream come true.
