DREAM HOUSE
Dreams... I`m fond of dreaming and often try to imagine my future life. My family is the most important part of my life and of course I`d like to have a wonderful house which would prove that my family is one of the happiest in the world. I prefer my house to belong to a romantic style as it suits me best. It`s informal and a mix of new and old. Such things as candles, cushions and flowers can be found everywhere. I belong to spring and autumn types of people and so the colours can be blue and green from a bright spring and brown, cream and orange from a queit autumn. So...

Imagine you are somewhere in the suburbs of a city. The surrounding scenery makes you feel yourself in a fairytale as everything is green, the forest air is fresh and a light wind is playing with your hair. There`s a sea not far from here and you can enjoy the sound of running waves during tides. And how beautiful it`s at night when the moonway shines like silver. Suddenly you notice a hedge. It succesfully hides a house providing some kind of privacy to its owners. The first thing you see openning the gate is lots of flowers, which are being watered by a spinkler at the moment. The house is a two-storeyed building made from wood. The crazy paved drive leads to the garage which is to the left. The back garden is divided into three areas: to the left there`s a sporting one, to the right the relaxing area is located and just behind the house there`s a playing area. Not far from the garage one can see a swimming pool with some deckchairs and parasols around it. As you walk from the swimming pool to the end of the garden you find yourself at a football field. To the right of the house there`s a rockery with a small waterfall in it. Just near the rockery there`s an oval lawn with a brick sitting area and a metal fire pit for cool summer evenings. It`s my favourite place in the garden as I can read, relax or just sit thinking here. Now let`s walk to the front door. There`s a doormat on the porch for wiping feet; the door has a knocker and it`s also decorated with a hanging basket.
As you come in through the front door you find yourself in a large light hall. The stairwell forms the backbone of the house and dictates the personality of the building. The walls are painted bright minty green with dark shade at the bottom which gradually lightens as you go upstairs; white and black stripes of the steps draw the eye up the stairs. The floor is tiled with black granite and the banister handrail is in black rubber to match it. To the left of the door there`s a chest of drawers for shoes and a mirror above it. Also you can see a coat rack and an umbrella stand here. At the end of the hall near the sash window there`s a coffee table with a telephone on it. The first room on the left is a study, facing the front garden. It has soft pink walls and laminated floor and the first thing attracting your attention is a small folding coffee table with a globe on it. Next to the right wall there`s a settee which is an element of relaxation. To the left of the door there`re some pink bookshelves and a pink cupboard, the doors of which have square pannels to match the window bamboo blinds. In front of the shelves one can see a desk with a computer, a desk lamp and some boxes to keep all the papers organised. The adjoining room has no atmosphere for work as it is a living room designed in warm autumn colours. The walls are painted orange and brown in half. There`s an orange damask pattern on the brown parts of the walls and vice versa. To the left of the door near the window there`s a sofa with two floor lamps on each side which create a mysterious atmosphere by their dull light. In the centre of the room a small coffee table in the form of the capital letter "L" which is covered with lace and has a vase on it can be found. Next to the opposite wall there`re two armchairs and a stereo system between them. This wall is panneled and has also a round mirror with metal tubes which fan out like sun rays. The window is covered with dark strained shutters made from wood and the room is lighted by a chandelier which is a mix of brown clear and orange twisty swirls of various lengths. The focal point of the room is lots of cushions on the sofa and around the coffee table on the floor. They give the room a special comfortable feel. To the right of the front door the first is a dining room. It has purple walls and the one with the window is decorated with green gothic arches which have flowered wall papers in.To the left of the window covered with long curtains there`re some shelves with vases, candles and statuettes. Next to the opposite wall a sideboard for cutlery and table linen can be found. The dining table and six chairs made of dark oak together with the candelabra and candlesticks create a romantic atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The neighbouring room is a pale green kitchen, which has all the modern conveniences such as an electric coocker with a coocker hood, a dishwasher, a sink unit and a cupboard the working top of which has heat- and stain-resistance surface. There`s also a round table with four chairs in the centre. Herbs and spices are in smart glass jars on the shelves. The kitcen has a well-planned built-in storage cabinets so supplies and gadgets are within view and easy to reach. One of the doors in the kitchen leads to a veranda. Its walls are painted warm sand; the windows have thin white blinds which keep down the glare of the sun. There is an octagonal table and six chairs in the centre. Under the staircase there is a utility room for keeping a vacuum cleaner, brooms, dust-pans, an ironing board and different old things.

On the top floor there`re three bedrooms and a bathroom. Cool soft colours make the walls of the bathroom recede and give the impression of light and space. The floor has terracota tiles; the window covered with cream loose drapes is on the right. A classic style chair, a rug and some bookshelves create a reading area. On the opposite wall there`s a white cupboard for keeping bath salts, sponges, toilet paper, soap, an electric shaver and so on. There`s a large circular shower in the centre with long curtains around it. The shower and two partitions divide the room into two parts. Behind the left partition there`s a washbasin with a shelf for toothbrushes, toothpaste, a piece of soap and a mirror. Behind the right partition there`s a toilet bowl. Between them next to the wall an oval jacuzzi bath sunk into the floor level can be found. A large shower and the bath combined with a romantic style create somewhere luxirious to relax and escape into. Each bedroom has a bedroom suite consisting of a bed, a bedside table, a dressing table with a mirror and a wardrobe. But the parents` bedroom has a double bed and children have bunk beds. The parents` bedroom is cream in colour, the bed has a canopy and two plaster pillars. In front of the bed there is a fireplace with candles on it. The girls` bedroom has lilac walls with silver stencils, lilac flowered curtains, flower-shaped shelves and lots of flower cushions. The boys` one is dealing with football. It`s green in colour; a green bedspread has football applique, a football rug is in the centre.
The attic has a bedroom for guests which has striped walls painted in different shades of blue. The bedspread, cushions and the screen are patchwork. It has also a dressing table with a mirror and a wardrobe.
This is my dream house. But I`m sure that the beauty of the house can`t provide a happy life to us. L.N. Tolstoy once said: "A happy person is the person who is happy at home." If the members of the family are happy then they create a special atmosphere and any house can look cosy and comfortable.
