Two years ago I bought a detached house on the outskirts of Moscow. And now we live at
no.33 (Tretyakov street). There is a large garden behind the house. We grow up different
trees there. There is also a small paved yard in front of the house. The garage with my
favourite "NISSAN" is near the house. The roof of my house is covered with tiles and it is painted green. Our living-room overlooks the front garden. We created a classic Victorian drawing room. The warm walls make sure that you have a complete dado rail right around the room. They are painted terracotta. We used a slightly light for the area above the dado rail. The focal point of the room is the fire- place in which a coal-fire blazes cheerfully. On the mantelpiece there is a chiming-clock and simple pleated lampshades on top. My husband made a fender chair for around the fire- place. He attached two 4*2 timber with a number of lengths of sturdy copper painted the base black. Then he covered the top piece of timber with second hand leather. A thick, orange, Berber carpet covers the floor. On the right-hand side there is a window. Our designers created a dramatic effect with curtains. They made full-length curtains of satin finish lining fabric and cream muslin. The curtains cover the window and the whole wall when it is dark, are drawn back at the moment. So everybody has a good view of the front garden. The room is decorated with special photographs of person's side view - the silhouettes of friends and family. I made them myself with black paper and carefully cut around their head and glue with the black paper facing out on white paper. In the corner of the room there is a TV cabinet painted with black colour and decorated with brass door handles. There is brass fencing to make a decoration at the corners. On the TV cabinet and low coffee table fresh lilies always stand. On the left-hand side stand a cosy sofa with many cushions. Terracotta walls, special photographs, leather fireside fender and luxurious curtains all complete the look. Next to the living room there is a dining room. The walls are painted cream the ceiling is white. The floor is covered with linoleum. Our designers transferred a the room into an opulent and sophisticated formal dining room. Rich aubergine walls combine with traditional overtones to create a classic modern dining room. The dining room suite consists of a sideboard, a table and four chairs. Our dining room is light and pleasant and has a nice cosy feel. I have many memories of times spent there: special holidays, making dinner and others. This room faces south, so it is very sunny, and it has a lovely view of the road. As you come in through the door, you find yourself in a kitchen. Our designers transformed my kitchen into a retro fifties styled one, using dyed mats, floral patterns and blue walls. They created a 1950s funky kitchen in ice blue. The floor painted with three cream vinyl floor paint. The kitchen furniture is conveniently arranged in a line around the wall. The electric cooker and the sink unit and draining board and gleaming taps are under the window. The focal point of the room is a lovely blue table with blue mugs and floral place mats. There is also a long cupboard, which stretches the whole length of the wall. My kitchen is equipped with different appliances, such as food mixers or dishwashers. It contains saucepans, frying pans, jugs, labour-saving gadgets, and food. The working top of the cupboard has a shiny and stain surface. Above the cupboard there is a retro-styled suspended shelf out of flexy-ply and MDF. It is painted cream and fixed securely onto the wall. When you leave the living room you are in the hall. The hall is possibly the most important room of your home. It's the first area people see. The designers created a "wow" impression by using a terracotta orange contemporary design combined with a natural feel. And then you go upstairs to the bedroom. The Designers created a romantic and simple bedroom to help you relax away from the kids. The walls are painted cream. Then we use masking tape to isolate a square design. The lines are painted in lilac and light purple to create a subtle paneling effect. A focal point of the room is a large bed in the center. Above the bed hangs a piece of delicately patterned material and down the back wall to act like a canopy. We always use white cotton on our bed. This is to provides a good classic base. There is a season's blanket and cushions on the bed. Details are important in our bedroom. The bedroom suite consists of a double bed, bedside tables, a dressing table and a wardrobe. We leave the bedroom and go straight to the bathroom. Our bathroom is rather small but very cosy and pleasant. As I am a true romantic the style of my bathroom is romantic too. Our lavishly romantic bathroom is full of contemporary English country luxury. The walls in my bathroom are made with a stone effect using paint. The floor is painted a deep colour, which contrasts nicely with the light colours in the rest of the room and is stripped with floorboard. An interesting detail in my bathroom is a modern shelf with beautiful objects such as pebbles, picture frames and books. We have a classic luxurious bath with classic bath panels to emphasize the look. Our bathroom is very light and sunny as we have a large window with long luxurious cream curtains. The position of the furniture in the room gives a homely feel. Over the wash-basin there is a square mirror and shelf for toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, towels and so forth. Our bathroom is dressed with beautiful objects, candles and bright green plants such as ivy. There is an Ireland of calm in a sea of chaos in our house. It is called a playroom where children can play and we can work. The wallpaper has a yellow and red pattern, and the ceiling is painted cream. The floor is covered with green carpet on the top of linoleum. This room is square in shape and smaller than others. The focal point of the playroom is a large window which looks out onto the back garden. We have a big attic immediately under the roof of our house. We transformed an attic room into a great place for guests to stay, with blue and lilac painted wood, patchwork effects and a four-poster bed with many pillows and blue bedspread. The space in our attic has been used very efficiently As my style is romantic and very individual it allows great opportunity for bringing artistic creative nature you've been hiding. The colours and images are a mix of old and new in my house. The central heating built into our house. It is always warm in our house and we have a friendly, warm atmosphere there. My house has all the latest conveniences: a vacuum cleaner, a refrigerator, an electric iron, a washing machine, a computer, a TV set, a music center, a video and a telephone. I agree with the proverb "House is our castle". Without doubt, my house is really my castle and I never choose my house. The happiest times of my life have been spent there.
