The HOUSE of MY DREAM

Everybody dreams to have his own house where a person can come after a hard day & relax. In future I would like to have my own house too. But as I`m single now & have no children to have a flat is enough for me. I` d like to have a two-storeyed flat in a high-rise building. There`s a hall, a kitchen, a living room, and a study downstairs and a bedroom and the bathroom is upstairs.

As you come into the flat you see a light and spacious modern looking hall. The walls are painted a bright sunshine yellow. There`s a dado rail at waist height on the wall. Below the rail a thick embossed paper is pasted. The rail and the wallpaper is painted white. The floorboards are coated with a mix vanish and white spirit for natural look. The staircase is covered with a new deep blue stair carpet for adding warmth to the floor area. And of course there`s a pine framed mirror and white church candles on the wall.

Straight from the hall you come into the kitchen. My kitchen is of medium size but the space is used very efficiently. The walls are painted an off white colour. This brings extra light to the kitchen. The kitchen has a special kitchen laminate beech floor. The kitchen units painted a light duck egg blue colour are conveniently arranged in a line around three walls. A beech block work surface contrasts with the soft colours used on the walls and units. A table and some chairs are at the middle of the room. The radiator is hidden behind a simple MDF and fretwork frame. There`re a lot of holes in the fretwork as the more holes in the fretwork the more effective the radiator will be at heating the room. For extra cover space I put my crockery in a specially built plate rack on the wall. Simple china and a white washed wooden tray completes the look.

My living room is the biggest room of my flat.and I think it`s nice. A picture rail is attached near the top of the walls. Below the rail the walls are painted with beige emulsion. Above the rail the walls are painted white along with the skirting boards. This helps to emphasise the dark fireplace. The floor is sanded with an electric sander till smooth and sealed with two coats of varnish. It is dressed with natural coloured rugs. The soft comfortable sofa and two armchairs are covered with white cotton and dressed with animal striped cushions. The curtains hang on net wires with the cinnamon muslin drawn back to reveal the white muslin curtains behind. A simple glass coffee table is in the centre of the room. It`s dressed with white altar candles. To make the room cosy I`ve put some plants around the room.

The last room downstairs is my study.the walls in my study are painted with beige emulsion. There`s parquet on the floor. The desk and the bookcase is made of walnut.the bookcase is fool of books. On the desk there`s a table lamp and a computer. The focal point of the room is a large window with jalousie.

Then you go upstairs to my bedroom. Nothing beats the innocence and purity of whites and creams. That`s why I`ve chosen these colours. So I painted the walls white and put a cream carpet down on the floor. The bed is the focal point of the room. It`s dressed with cream linen and there`re layers with cushions and a bedspread. I use a variety of fabrics with different textures including silks, satins, velvets, soft  fleese and brocades. I pad the headboard and footboard with foam and cover with soft fleese for comfort. Above the headboard thread two large cream coloured cushions onto a wooden pole. The pole is attached to the wall with two carved wooded heart shaped brackets. Thre attractive lamps are positioned in the room to create a romantic atmosphere. They have simple cream shades; two of them are attached to the wall and one is attached to the ceiling. The fireplace are has a soft warm glow. It`s created by simply placing a pink light into the fireplace and then covering the opening with opaque Perspex. The room is decorated with vases, bowls and candles in the pale accent colour.

And the last (but not least) is my bathroom. It is an inviting sanctuary for relaxation and indulgence. The walls are tiled in pale pink. This soft colour contrasts beautifully with the white bathroom suite. Vinyl flooring makes the bathroom easy to clean.the floor is covered with a small rug. There`s a mirror and some shelves for towels and toiletrics. I use the window ledge to display a few pink candles.

I hope I will have such a kind of flat in future. More than that I`ll try to make a flat

where it would be pleasant to work, to have a rest and to meet with friends. I want my “home to be my castle” as the english proverb runs.
